Set Fence Posts

First locate a soft ground so you can dig easily drive a stake in the ground where you would like to start mke the stakes approximately the hight of the posts Drive a second stake in the ground where you would like to end try to keep these stakes in line as best you can Yie a string to one stake and then to the other, this will give you a straight fence line
Using your post hole digger dig a hole 2 feet deep. set the fist post in place and level it. back fill with all the dirt you removed from the hole

Use the handle of your shovel to force the dirt against the post. measure 6feet over from pole and start the process over again making sure each post is level and sits against the string you tied to the stakes

while putting each post in the ground find a place you can mark on each post and use this mark as a reference point so all posts are at equal height you can do this by putting a line level on the string as close to the top of the posts as possible
