Sales clerks perform many duties. They may help customers, stock shelves, wrap gifts, bag purchases, perform inventory, tidy merchandise and other miscellaneous duties. Sales clerks are usually found in retail stores. The following will help you get a position as a sales clerk
Check out leads from the newspaper. Retail stores often advertise in the local newspaper for sales clerks. Shop around as many retail outlets put up signs in their windows for help. You need to respond to those signs. Make sure you apply for all positions.
Look on the internet where some positions are advertised for sales clerks.

Apply for all positions because the more positions you apply for the better your chances of getting a job. Be sure to follow the directions that they give you on how to apply. If they find you can't follow simple directions it will be harder to get a job.
Attend interviews. When offered an interview make sure you attend. Dress appropriately. You need to give a good impression. Knowing what the job entails will help you get the position.

Ask intelligent questions. The more you can express yourself positively, the better your chances of getting a position. Continue to apply for different jobs and attend interviews. The applications and the interviews will get easier as you continue to do them. Practice makes perfect. You will also gain more information about the job of a sales clerk and that will help you on the next interview.
