Look Great with Glasses

Select a frame that suits your face. Frames that flatter are crucial to a great appearance in glasses, so be sure to try on a wide variety of styles. You can do this in the store or online with any number of websites that allow you to superimpose frames over an uploaded photo of your face. It's also helpful to have a friend inspect your frames for a second opinion. Invest in high index lenses if you have a strong prescription. High-index or "thinned" lenses are more lightweight and better for cosmetic purposes as they prevent the "Coke bottle" look. Consult with the salesperson before you make your purchase, as the size and shape of your frames will also have an impact on the thickness of your lenses.

Get an anti-reflective coating on your glasses. Glasses with an anti-reflective coating show off a much clearer picture of your eyes and prevent reflections in photographs. Glasses that have been "thinned" or are high-index tend to be more reflective than normal glasses, so an anti-reflective coating is a must for these types of glasses. Keep your glasses in good condition. Be sure to keep your glasses cleaned, polished and in overall great shape. Glasses that are crooked, scratched, chipped or taped detract from your look.
