Find a small creek or stream where you know that neither you nor the stones will be disturbed. It is best to start this cleansing in the early morning hours near sunrise. If this is on your property or near your home, awesome. However, if it is private property, make sure that you seek permission from the owner. Place the stones in the small muslin bag and secure the top with the drawstring.
Place the bag in deep enough running water so that the water flows over the submerged bag. Do not place the stones in an area of water that is stagnant. Secure the bag by using the drawstring to tie it to a (natural) weighted object--such as a stone--or large branch. Leave the stones submerged in the running water overnight (24 hours). The running water will wash away any impurities or negative energies.
After retrieving the stones from the water, promptly remove them from the bag and dry them off and place them in a dry piece of cloth, or other natural container.
