Use a glass or stainless steel soap pot for mixing and melting the ingredients. Keep the soap pot inside another pot, much like using a double boiler. Make a mixture of 40 oz. of distilled water with 5.5 oz. of potassium hydroxide in the soap pot. Heat this mixture to about 120 degrees.
Mix a separate pot with oils. Make a mixture 16 oz. of a base oil, such as sunflower oil, and another 7 oz. of a fragrant oil, such as coconut oil. Mix in 2 oz. of boric acid with 10 oz. of distilled water. Heat this mixture to about 120 degrees. Add the second mixture to the first mixture. Mix the two together with a stick blender or a wooden spoon.
Keep mixing the ingredients until they thicken. Add 3 oz. of an essential oil or soap fragrance. Add a soap dye if necessary, or allow the soap to retain its natural color. Dilute this soap base in boiling distilled water and stir this mixture hourly for the first day. Allow the mixture to cool and thicken for about two days, and then pour your liquid soap into any soap pump.

Use Liquid Glass To Seal A Blown Head Gasket
Start your vehicle and pour the entire bottle of Liquid Glass into your radiator. Allow your vehicle to get up to regular operating temperature. Shut off the vehicle. Place your catch pan under the front of your vehicle where the release cap is for your radiator drain.
Unscrew the radiator drain valve and allow it to drain completely into the catch pan once the vehicle has cooled. Dispose of the drainage as your local laws require. Replace the drain cap and refill your radiator with water. Start your vehicle and allow it to run until it has reached regular operating temperature, then shut it off again.
Again replace the catch pan under the release valve for your radiator, and unscrew the valve. Allow all the water to drain, and dispose of it as law requires. For the last time, replace the cap and refill your radiator completely. You have now sealed up any places in your head that may have allowed a leak.

About Underwater Welding
Function
Underwater welding is utilized in making repairs to pipelines, offshore oil platforms and ships. This saves the company both time and money that it would cost to lift the structures out of the water first. This would not be a possible feat for some of the structures. A specially trained welder performs the repairs.
Types
There are two major types of underwater welding--wet and dry. They both are a form of hyperbaric welding, which is a high pressure welding method. Wet welding takes place in a completely wet setting. Dry underwater welding is performed in a dry chamber. The area needing fixed is surrounded with a chamber and the water is pumped out. The welder works inside of this dry chamber.
Identification
Underwater welders are specially trained, certified and work in teams. There are numerous underwater welding schools located around the United States and the world. Most underwater welders use air supplied from above in place of the standard scuba breathing apparatuses. They are in continuous contact with team members on the surface for safety reasons.
Considerations
Any one thinking about becoming an underwater welder must consider the dangers involved. It is a very exciting and rewarding career for any one who has the discipline needed to be successful. You must be comfortable being underwater at various remote locations around the world in sometimes awkward surroundings.
Warning
Underwater welders have a danger of electric shock. Numerous precautions must be taken to prevent this situation. This includes insulation on equipment and turning off the power instantly when the welding is finished. There are also risks of explosions from combinations of oxygen and hydrogen pockets being ignited. Another serious danger is from nitrogen accumulating in the welders' bloodstream from the high pressure. Decompression chambers and extra divers are used to avert this danger.

Be a Metallurgist
Demonstrate competence in math, chemistry and physics. Metallurgists must also develop high-level computer skills. Employ a basic understanding of mining principles. Materials engineers observe and understand the ways metal is extracted from ores. Study the refining principles used with ores. Understand how welding works. Metallurgists join metals as part of the process of creating new alloys, including ceramic or polymeric materials. Earn a college degree in metallurgy or materials engineering.
Few colleges offer majors in metallurgy, although other engineering applications use metallurgy as well. The top metallurgy and materials engineering schools are Colorado School of Mining and MIT. Consider pursuing a graduate degree. Develop a specialization in working with metals, whether finding ways to retrieve the metals or working with the metals after procurement. The ability to use scientific processes, including experimentation, is useful for materials engineers. Know all about metals, including their structure, properties and history.
Understand materials synthesis. Learn skills to solve problems surrounding metals. Being able to analyze and interpret data is important as is the ability to communicate that information to others. Metallurgists often work in teams with other professionals. Continue education by participating in seminars, reading the literature about metallurgy and communicating with peers.

Select Educational Software
Consider your child's age, then add two years to determine which products are age-appropriate. For example, your 7-year-old can probably use software titles that claim to be for children 9-12 years old. (One exception: don't buy programs that require the player to read if your child is a pre-reader).
Think about your child's interests. There are games devoted to almost every interest imaginable, and your kindergarten son is far more likely to use (and therefore learn from) a program about dinosaurs than one that teaches how to count in Spanish. Decide what you want your child to learn - and not learn. Some games, even for very young children, have violent or insensitive content you may not want your child exposed to.
Talk with your child's teacher. Since many schools now have computers in the classroom, your child probably has some favorite programs at school. His or her teacher can recommend similar titles for you to purchase. Read some product reviews. Spending $30 on software is a total waste if your child can't navigate the program or loses interest after 45 minutes.
Try before you buy. Most toy stores have demo CD-ROMs and PCs set up for you to try a program you're considering for purchase. Unless it's a gift, you might want your child to try it out, too. Look for patterns. You're bound to buy a few duds now and then, but look for similarities among the games your child really enjoys. It's your best guide to picking winners in the future.

Use Budget Software
Choose your budget software. Look for a software that meets your needs--and your budget! While there are several expensive software programs you can buy, they may be too involved or complicated for your needs without features you really want. The nice thing about free software is that you can try it out and switch to something else if you don't like it.
Install your software on your computer, or create an online account if the software is web-based. Make sure that your personal information is carefully guarded with bank-level security. Fill in your bank account and credit account information, so that your expenditures and bills will be tracked by the software.
Create your monthly spending plan, balancing your budget until your income equals your outgo. This is known as a zero-based budget. Your savings, investments and expenses should all be included in your monthly budget. Be sure not to overlook irregular bills or quarterly payments.
Pay your bills and record the payments in the software. Many of your paid bills will be automatically updated in your budget, but some you'll have to enter manually.

Change Cabinet Hardware
Take inventory of your hardware. Have an accurate count of each kind of handle that is in your kitchen. Many cabinets have a knob, which is the easiest to replace because there is only one screw. If you're replacing a piece with more than one screw, measure the distance between the two. If your new hardware doesn't match up with the old hardware, there will be a couple of extra steps involved.
Choose new hardware. The kind you choose will depend on what kind of look you want your kitchen to have. For example, sleek, silver pulls will help achieve a more modern look while decorative knobs might be better for a traditional look.
Remove existing hardware. Use whatever sort of system works best for you. Taking everything off at once would be best if your new hardware matches up with the old hardware. Doing one cabinet door at a time might be better if you need to make new holes and fill old ones.
Screw new hardware into place. If you have to drill new holes, use a template to ensure that they are in the same spot on each cabinet. Fill old holes with wood filler and refinish the surface. You will only need to do this if you made new holes for your new cabinet hardware.

Update the firmware on any hardware in your computer
First you need to identify which pieces of hardware use updateable firmware. The most common are CD/DVD drives. MP3 players and other USB devices may also have firmware that can be updated. Network routers use huge, complex firmware to handle network traffic so those are a great candidate for firmware updates. Really simple devices only use drivers and no firmware though.
In general, CD/DVD drives and routers are the most important to update. This is because music and software developers invent new forms of copy protection that can confuse an outdated drive and cause delays while reading CDs or playing music. Also if the drive was released with problems in the original firmware that they fixed in a later version it can severe performance problems while reading from CDs and DVDs. Manufacturers also add support for new types of burnable discs.
As for routers, network protocols and new networking technology gets changed and invented and the router needs to be able to handle it. For example, all versions of the Linksys Wireless G router jam up and fail to let any traffic through if you're running a bittorrent or other p2p program. But if you update the firmware from version 1.00.0 to 4.30.5, it fixes the problem and actually adds new, useful features too. Also it patches some security holes that had been discovered in the router.
DVD Drives in Device Manager So once you've identified which devices should be updated, you need to find out the exact model name and manufacturer. If you can easily see the device, look for labels on it stating the model number. A printer should have a model displayed clearly right on the front like "HP Laserjet 1300n" for example. If the device is a CD/DVD drive, the model is usually located on a label on the top. You have to take the drive out to see it though and that's not very convenient so I'd suggest doing it the fast way:
Right click on My Computer and click properties. Then go to the hardware tab and click Device Manager. This opens a list of most of the hardware attached to your computer. Expand each category to find the hardware you're looking for. The model name should be displayed right in the title. In the attached screenshot, you can see that my first drive's model is DUW1616/ARR and my third drive's model is SH-S182M. The first one was actually made by AOPEN but the third one was in fact made by Samsung, not TSSTcorp. I found that out by typing the model number into google, which is a good way to find out who really made it.
Samsung's firmware update page for my DVD drive Once you've found out the manufacturer and model number, you need to find the firmware update. I would strongly recommend you go to the manufacturer's website to get it. If you simply type "SH-S182M firmware" into google you will find sites that have downloads of the firmware but there's no way to know if it's actually the latest version. However if I go to samsung.com and click on support then downloads and search by model number for SH-S182M, it shows me that the latest firmware released is version SB06 (as seen in the attached screenshot). It's likely that the drive came with version SB00 so it's a good idea to update it. For my AOPEN drive, they are on version 1.03 of the firmware. The website states that the latest versions include fixes for some errors that occur while burning audio CDs and they added support for new types of discs and faster burning speeds.

Clean Metal Cabinet Hardware
Choose the cleaner appropriate for your hardware. Your local grocery or discount store will offer several pastes or liquid cleaners suitable for your specific hardware. Note that certain older hardware may be tarnished, so you will need a cleaner with a tarnish remover.
Remove the metal hardware from the cabinets using your screwdriver. Keep the screws together since they are easily lost. Clean any screws that are visible before you reattach the hardware.
Mix equal parts of warm water and vinegar to soak both the hardware and the screws. This will help loosen any hard dirt and grease that may have accumulated. There is no need to soak for very long; 10 minutes or so is sufficient.
Remove each piece of hardware one at a time for detailed cleaning. Use your soft brush to remove any remaining grease or dirt. Depending upon the type of metal finish, you will be using a liquid or a paste to clean the hardware. Follow the directions on the containers and either coat or soak your hardware.
Rinse the liquid-soaked hardware with warm water or wipe the paste-coated hardware with a soft cloth to remove all cleaner residue. Polish your metal hardware with a soft, dry cloth until completely dry. Clean the face of your cabinets while the hardware is removed. Use an appropriate wood cleaner for this task. Reattach the clean metal hardware to your cabinets.

Recycle Plastics Lids
Use plastic lids as coasters in the fridge to save the shelves from becoming a sticky mess. Toss them in the dishwasher when they get dirty. Corral drips from the paintbrush. Cut a slit in the middle of a plastic lid that is as wide as the paintbrush. Insert the handle of the paintbrush through the slit and pull the narrow part of the handle all the way through.
Replace a drain stopper. Put a plastic lid over the drain in the sink or tub if the stopper is missing. Prevent watermarks on furniture from houseplants. Use plastic lids as coasters for small, potted plants like African violets.
Make patties from bulk ground beef and place each one on a plastic lid. Stack them, seal in a plastic bag and freeze. Use the pre-formed burgers and separate them with ease when the grill is hot. Personalize coasters for kids drinks. Encourage the kids to use the coasters and help keep their drinks from getting mixed up. Seal up a smelly bag of trash when there's no twist-tie in sight. Cut a slit in a plastic lid, slip it over the gathered top of the bag and pull it through to seal the bag tight.

Recycle plastics at home and earn
Gather all kinds of discarded plastics at home, clean them up with water and soap and let dry. Segregate these items, sort them out and categorize as to colors. Prepare a plan on what to do with the plastics you would like to recycle.Your intentions may be for Art, Kitchen tools, toys etc., if so, prepare various molds and see to it that these molds are ready during the process.
Be sure to think also of the color combinations you like to appear after the recycling process.
Get ready with your mounted burner, powerful enough to hold a metal containment full of plastics for melting. Place plastics inside the metal containment and start the fire burning. Melt the plastics and be ready with the metal dipper. For safety, use of heavy duty gloves, goggles, long-sleeved shirts and apron is highly recommended.
The designed molds must be flat ready for the transfer of boiling plastics. When ready, dip the metal dipper slowly into the boiling containment and transfer the boiling plastics into the molds carefully in order to avoid wastage. Let the molds dry and continue with other designs you like.
The newly molded plastics when dry and cold could now be taken out from the format and make some finishing touches. If the desired output is not met, just throw these molded plastics again to the boiling containment. So on and so forth. Now, you can have beads, toys of sorts, knife handles, key holders, images, decorative designs like frames etc. Is it not challenging? It just needs sorts of wild imaginations.

About Famous Volleyball Coaches
Types
Teams focus on beach (outdoor) volleyball or the indoor form of the sport, from college level to professional to Olympic caliber. One famous collegiate coach is Laurie Corbelli, who has the most wins in the history of the Texas A&M women's volleyball program. With Corbelli as head coach and her husband, Tom, as associate head coach, they became one of the most highly respected coaching teams in the collegiate sports world. Corbelli, a 1984 Olympic silver medalist, was hired by Texas A&M to coach Aggies volleyball in 1993. The Corbellis' teams reached the NCAA tournament 13 times in 14 years.
Geography
Superb programs can be found all around the world, and sometimes a player from one program eventually becomes a coach in a different country. Lang Ping, a talented player in China in the 1980s, won numerous world championships with her team. As head coach of the 1996 Chinese women's Olympic team, Lang Ping was a driving force in China's winning the silver medal in Atlanta that year. She then successfully coached league matches in Italy, where her team won the championship cup for five years running. In 2005, she became head coach of the American women's volleyball team. Ironically, as a player she helped beat the United States in the 1984 Olympics and achieve a gold medal for China; then, as a coach in 2008, she helped her American team beat China in the preliminaries. The American women's team went on to win the silver, losing the gold to Brazil, while China won the bronze.
Lang Ping had the notable achievement in 2008 of being the only female head coach in the world-ranking top 20 countries by the Federation Internationale de Volleyball.
History
Volleyball was invented by Massachusetts YMCA coach William Morgan in 1895, inspired by the German sport of faustball and other net games such as badminton and tennis. Living in a climate with cold winters, Morgan wanted to create a net sport that could be played indoors. By the early 1900s, the game was being played on beaches in Hawaii and California as a leisure activity, and the first organized trophy tournaments were played in California in 1930. Beach volleyball was first played at the tournament level in Europe in 1927 near Paris, France. In 1950, the first world championship was organized in the U.S. and in Brazil.
Beach volleyball was officially recognized by the International Olympic Committee in 1996, and was included for the first time that year. Kerri Pottharst of Australia, a renowned beach volleyball player, won a bronze medal in 1996 and a gold medal in 2000 at Sydney. She went on to coach several international teams.
Significance
An outstanding coach can make all the difference in a team's success. The Brazilian men's volleyball team only achieved sixth place in the 2000 Olympics but in 2001, Bernardo Rezende was hired as head coach. Rezende had represented Brazil as a player in several international competitions before turning to training and coaching in 1988.

How to Become A Great Volleyball Coach
Tips for New Volleyball Coaches
Getting a Good Start, Begins With Education
If you want to become a volleyball coach, you need to become state and nationally certified. If you are not a teacher and you want to coach, then you must take a one-day class called Coaching Principles. At the end of the day, you take two tests, one for state certification, and one for national certification. You will receive your test results in the mail.
To Begin:
1. Create a Season Plan
A season plan is taking the time to write down every aspect that you would like to teach the players and prioritize them. Then you need to associate the item with a particular practice where you will cover the item. This ensures that you cover each item that you would like to teach that you feel is important. By creating a season plan, you will prioritize what needs to be taught and when it needs to be taught during the season. Remember, the purpose of practice is to prepare your kids for the games.
Back Row Attack 2. Create an Outline for Teaching the Skills
There is a difference between playing the game and teaching it to new players. One of the strongest and most beneficial theories on learning is teaching skills (for any sport or job), in parts. Another term for this is called teaching in "digestible chunks." You have to give the kids amounts of information they can handle. If you give them too much, they may get overwhelmed or feel like it is "too complicated" or "not fun" and give up. That is what the purpose of the skills outline is. It breaks the skills down into parts that the kids can learn and build on, through progressions. The progressions aspect is building on the initial part of the skill, by adding the next step (where at the end, they put it all together). Take for example the skill of serving. You have the stance, the toss, shifting of weight, ball contact and then the follow through. These are all the various parts of the skill. You first teach them each part individually and allow them to practice the part. Then starting from the beginning, you add the next part. Eventually, they get to the end, where they "put it all together
3. Use Stats to Help You Quantify Who Can Do What
The phrase "stats don’t lie" is true. Rotations and match-ups play a factor in statistics. If you can figure out which rotations are giving your players trouble, then you can use the statistics to put your best passers in those rotations. The next step is getting to the point where you can chart your rotations, to determine their effectiveness vs. your opponent.
Good Pass Value of Recovery and Off-court Get-togethers
4. Recovery Time: Sometimes coaches think we can continue to work the kids, day in and day out. Sometimes a coach will find the players just do not seem to have the same enthusiasm they began with. Sometimes, kids need a break, or you will burn them out (or they might get sick, because they are worn down physically). Over-training can be a serious negative factor and one our responsibilities is to protect our athletes and to look out for their best interests. Make sure you are building some break times into your practices, so that the kids can recover during the practices and make sure you allow some low-key practice day.

Help Kids Succeed at Sports
Talk to your child about their sport. Elicit information about practices, coaches and friends if they are already involved in a sport. Your goal in this conversation is to determine if they like the sport they are involved in enough to put in the work necessary to be good at it.
I love my sport. Meet with the coach. Talk with their coach to find out how your child interacts with other team members and if there is anything that you can do or provide at home to hone your child's skills. Let the coach know that your main priority is working with them to provide the best sports experience for your child. Extra attention to the coach can lead to extra attention and training for your little athlete.
Fuel up. Sports success hinges on a healthy diet, but it also depends on your child having plenty of energy. Make sure that you are providing a breakfast and lunch that not only has the requisite fruits & vegetables, but that also include enough energy-building carbohydrates to fuel him through practice. Pasta, bagels and granola bars are good sources of carbohydrates and also make good snacks. Since dinner often takes place after practice, this meal should have fewer carbohydrates and more fruits, vegetables and meats.
So, how do you feel about yoga? Exercise together. Even if your child is working out 15 or 20 hours a week, set aside some time for a quick evening walk or an early-morning bike ride. Working out with you will bring the two of you closer together and help you communicate about sports and fitness. Also, if your child is young enough or new at a sport, practices may not be frequent enough to get them in "fighting shape." Your exercise time will supplement the training that they receive at the gym.
Ahhh, sweet success! Define success. To help your child succeed in sports, you must have a goal to aim for. Also, you must be sure that your goals and those of your child line up. You can do this step with or without your child. You may want to do it for yourself, then do the exercise together. Talk with your child about what they feel success in sports means. Make sure that the two of you come to an agreement about your goals before the seaon starts. This way, you can keep these objectives in mind and support your child every step of the way on their journey to sports success.
Stay positive. Even when your child has not played their best, emphasize how proud you are of their efforts. Pick out something they did well--no matter how small--and praise them. Leave the critiquing to their coach. Even if you are more experienced, performance criticism from you, a loved parent, can easily take the form of a personal attack when a child is already down on him or herself. On the other hand, a positive example from you can inspire them to get back out there and not give up. With your help, your child can achieve anything they set their mind to on or off the playing field.

Become a Sports Referee
It would help to have participated in the given sport you want to referee in, however, it is not necessary. A thorough knowledge of the rules is mandatory. Personal integrity is vital, as you must look upon each contest the same way and react accordingly.
Remember, you are an independent contractor who has entered in an agreement with a sports organization. In some sports, it will be a considerable amount of time before you will receive a regular amount of schedule events.
To become a good referee, one must be prepared to devote a considerable amount of time and energy to the process. You must attend rules interpretation meetings during the week and prior to the game as you go over game situations with veteran referees.
Pay is depended upon your experience and how you perform on the field. Expect to spend money on your uniform. The biggest adjustment is that you are a decision maker, and sometimes your calls will not please everyone.

Care for Your Aging Pets
Bad breath is the easiest sign to tell. Pay attention to bloody gum after your pet chews on something.Brush his/her teeth regularly to help with the foul smell. Cataracts or glaucoma problem arise when you see your pet running into things, or not responsive to stimuli, and have cloudy eyes.Do not move your furniture around in your house for a while, and keep his/her feeding bowls at the same place.
If you see your pet having difficulty getting up, or having a stiff walk, it is the sign of degenerated arthritis.Help your pet by restricting his exercises, and only do slow walk. Also, talk to your vet about vitamin supplements. Signs of frequent accidents, loss of appetite, decrease in weight are pointing to illnesses. For frequent accidents, take your dog out more often, and keep litter box where your cat can get to quickly.
Talk to your vet for dietary recommendation. The warning signs for hyperthyroidism are loss of appetite, and decrease in weight. Some might gain weight since they can't absorb the nutrients.
To help your pet, give him/her two meal a day, and talk to your vet for a proper diet plan.

Give Pets Oral Medication
Give your pet a treat without medication to whet his or her appetite.
Consider the following for dog treats: a bite-size portion of hot dog, cheese or peanut butter.
Offer cats a clump of butter; give horses grain with molasses.
Use the same treat to disguise the pill.
Break the pill into small pieces if necessary, and wrap entirely inside the hot dog, cheese, peanut butter or clump of butter.
Grind up the pill for horses, and add to the grain with plenty of molasses to hold the mix together.
Be sure the treat is large enough to cover the pill or pieces of pill, but not so large that your pet will chew, discover the medicine and spit it out.

If a Cat Family Adopts You
Contact a community organization or veterinarian that can tell you what to do if you have seen a cat or cat family on your property. Sometimes a family will make a home under a shed or under your house. Put food and water near the place where you have seen them. The cats will be afraid of humans, but you can still help them. If you decide that you want to keep the cat or cats who have adopted you, make friends with the cats by feeding and leaving water out for them. Try to get closer to them as they are feeding. This will take some time, but eventually, they may start to trust you.
Borrow a trap from a catch and release program to catch the cats. You will need to put food inside the trap and set it. It may take several tries, especially if you have more than one cat. Once you can catch them, they must be spayed or neutered.
Take the cats to the organization that provides help. If there is no such organization in your community, take them to a veterinarian to be spayed or neutered. The vet will examine them and give them the shots they need. If you continue feeding the cats, they will eventually become less afraid. Some of these 'wild' cats even become tame enough to be petted, and will allow you to pick them up.

Care for Feral Cats
Have your pet cat spayed or neutered if you haven't already done so. If you can't afford to have your pet spayed/neutered, get in touch with the animal control agency nearest you. Ask if there is a program in your area that provides the service at no cost to you.
Check to see if there is an agency in your community that operates a catch and release program. If you notice cats around your neighborhood, near stores or shopping centers, call the agency. They have programs that trap feral cats, spay and neuter them and then release them. If such an organization exists in your community, contact them to ask for their help.
Start a catch and release program in your community if there isn't one already. Your local animal control agency may be able to tell you how. Make a donation to a spay/neuter and release program. These organizations depend on donations to help them continue their work.

Introduce Cats to Each Other
Initially, do not expect cats to get along in the same areas. Briefly introduce them to each other on opposite sides of a room. Speak softly and whisper soothing words. Then, relegate each cat to their own space--preferably separate rooms with doors that can be closed.
Give each cat their own food and water dish in their separate areas. If they must share a litter box, place the box in a neutral area. Take a blanket or towel each cat enjoys sleeping on or playing with, and place the item in the other cat's living space. This will begin to familiarize each cat to the other's smell.
Gradually allow the cats to share space. Leave the doors open between rooms. Place food dishes in neutral areas. Encourage the cats with soothing words to associate with each other. While some cats never become social, most cats will eventually learn to co-exist.

Board Dogs in Your Home
You should live in an ample-sized house with a fenced-in yard for your boarded dogs to get exercise. You should also be prepared to let the boarded dogs have free roam; this is the idea behind private home boarding. You should have experience caring for dogs as a dog owner or professional.
You should be at home most of the time except for short absences to run errands and take care of business. Going out to dinner or a movie is also OK. Find out what permits/licenses are required to board dogs in your city and obtain them. Sometimes you may not need a permit if you are boarding no more than three dogs at a time including your own. It will also be a good idea to obtain pet sitter's insurance.
Decide if you would prefer to be an independent dog boarder or register with a company that will arrange clients for you. A company will require that you meet specific criteria to be certified as a host. See Resources below for one such company, Sleepover Rover, which has outlets in several western states. You can apply to be a host on their website.

Clean your Dogs Teeth
Starting your dog off with a tooth care regimen at a young age is always a good idea. This will help decrease the likelihood that your dog will need dental intervention. It will also will help the dog develop a tolerance for the activity. Optimally, you should brush your dogs teeth daily. However, if that is not feasible brush them every other day. The more often that you brush your dogs teeth, the quicker that they will become accustom to having it done.
There are many dental products for dogs on the market currently. It is important that you purchase a dog toothpaste or pet toothpaste. Toothpaste that is made for humans can be harmful to your dog. You can find toothpaste that contains fluoride for dogs, but it is not 100% necessary. Dogs that already have dental issues, like gum disease may benefit from a dog toothpaste with fluoride. Selecting a toothbrush can be tricky. There are many different types of toothbrushes to choose from. The easiest style of brush to use is the finger brush. This brush fits easily over your finger. This style of brush works well for smaller dogs or dogs who have an adverse reaction to getting their teeth brushed. You can also use dental pads for dogs who are difficult. When you choose a tooth brush, the most important things is to select a brush that is made for dogs, they are softer and smaller than our brushes.
Staying relaxed and positive is essential to your dog taking to getting their teeth brushed. Practice brushing their teeth with just your finger and a yummy liquid. Next, move on to practicing with gauze and a yummy liquid. You will gently move in a circular motion to remove any plaque. When you graduate to the actual brushing instrument, let the dogs inspect it. Letting them sniff, lick and even bite their toothbrush may help to alleviate any anxiety they have about it being in their mouth. You can start off by brushing the outside of your dogs canine teeth and gradually increase the number of teeth you brush each day. Eventually, you will be brushing all your dogs teeth daily, both on the inside and out.
Toys and diet can also be a part of your dogs dental care. Dry food tends to cause less plaque then wet food. So, it is an important part of your dogs diet even if it is not their soul source of nourishment. Avoid foods with excess sugars or gluten and limit table scraps. Poor diet is definitely a contributing factor to dental problems. This may become more apparent later in your dogs life. Besides diet, the toys that you give your dog can play an important role in their overall dental health. Pets stores are filled with toys that can help remove plaque when chewed on. You can buy soft cloth and rope toys that wipe away plaque. Some dogs prefer chewing on harder toys. They have many dental bones and snacks available that are a bit tougher. The most important thing is that you make certain your dog is not chewing hard enough to break or chip a tooth. Dental toys are a great way to supplement brushing your dogs teeth, especially if you do not brush them daily.
Regardless of your dogs age it is important that you start implementing a doggy dental care routine. Dental intervention with your vet, if need can be expensive and uncomfortable for you pet. Veterinarian dental care can be avoided or minimized if you make your dogs teeth as much a priority to you as they are to your dog.

Prevent Worms in Dogs
Get puppies tested as early as three weeks after birth. They will often already be infested with worms and will need to be treated. Take your dog in for an annual exam. Ask your veterinarian to recommend broad-spectrum preventive products. The newest products protect against roundworms, heartworms, ticks and fleas.
Control fleas (see related eHow 'Get Rid of Fleas'). Fleas can transmit tapeworm if your dog ingests them. Avoid exposing your pet to stray animals or wildlife, as they are often carriers for fleas and other parasites. Dog parks that are not well maintained are a common source of parasites. Prevent your dog from eating animal carcasses, such as those of birds, rabbits and rodents. Carcasses can carry immature worms that can then mature after your dog has ingested them.
Prevent your dog from eating feces'his own or that of other dogs and other animals. Contact with fecal material from another animal is the most common way for a dog to get intestinal parasites.
Take precautions when traveling with your dog. Before you go, check with your travel agent or veterinarian about risks at your destination. Inspect your pet's anus and feces to spot signs of tapeworms. Tapeworm segments are small, white and flat, resembling grains of rice.
Have a stool specimen checked by your veterinarian to be certain that your dog remains parasite-free.

Identify Bloat in Animals
Understand how bloat occurs. When the stomach fills up with food, water or air, it increases in size. An increase in pressure causes the stomach to twist in a way that shuts down the entrance and exit to the stomach. Thus, nothing can enter or exit the stomach and the stomach remains full. The increased size of the stomach creates pressure on surrounding organs.
Know the symptoms associated with bloat. Animals will experience intense abdominal pain, have problems breathing and may begin dry heaving. They may have droopy ears or a glassy look in their eyes. Some animals kick or paw at their stomachs, pace back and forth, make noises and repeatedly lie down and get back up.
Recognize the bloated stance. Animals experiencing bloat often stand in a particular way, in which their back legs are stretched out further behind their bodies than normal. They stand stiffly and their legs may be spread apart from one another in a wide stance. Always take bloat seriously. Because the stomach expands, it creates pressure on the diaphragm, making it increasingly difficult for the animal to breath. Animals can ultimately suffocate from bloat. They may also go into shock and die. The pressure on the stomach must be relieved in order to prevent fatality. Talk to your vet for more information about the symptoms and dangers of bloat, as well as the best course of treatment if your animal ever experiences the condition.

Collect Stuffed Animals
Decide if you want to collect stuffed animals by brand. Many brands such as Gund, Russ and Dakin are easy to find in department and discount stores. Shop for more expensive brands such as Steiff at specialty toy stores or online. These brands might be more of a challenge to find and will be pricey to collect. You might enjoy the excitement of searching for a rare stuffed specimen.
Choose to collect a certain type of stuffed animal instead of a brand. For example, you might want to collect stuffed elephants, golden retrievers or marine animals. Research toy collecting before you start buying stuffed animals. Know what price you should pay for the animals and where the best deals are. You can find books on toy collecting and many informative online guides.
Find a place in your home where you can store your collection. Stuffed animals take up a lot of space, so plan accordingly. Choose a room that you don't use often so dust can be kept to a minimum. Clean your animals weekly to prevent the buildup of dust. You can shake them outside or vacuum them with a hose attachment.

Carve Animals in Wood
Choose a soft wood, especially if you are just learning how to carve animals in wood. It's easier to carve and more forgiving if you make mistakes. Basswood is ideal for beginners, and butternut is also a good first choice.
Start by tracing your design on the surface of the wood. You can use carbon paper for this process, which is one of the most common ways carvers do it. This paper works on most wood, but if the wood is dark, you may want to use dress maker's carbon paper, which is usually white. Put the tracing paper on the wood and the design you be tracing on top of that, secure the paper to the wood with tape and trace the exact design onto the wood.
Use a curved chisel to begin slowly removing wood, a little at a time, according to the pattern. You can get patterns from wood carving books such as "Carving Animals in Wood" by E. J. Tangerman. Continue cutting away more pieces to carve the animal in the wood. Refine the shape of your animal pattern using smaller curved chisel tools for detail, as needed.
Smooth and shape your image. You may use very tiny wood chisels, picks, files and sanding tools to get the results you desire. Use gradually finer sandpaper with gentle strokes to keep from the scarring the wood and to get your project as smooth as possible. Finish carving your wood project. Now you can decide whether to leave it natural, seal it with a varnish or paint it. The finish you decide to use should enhance your carving.

Best Way to Store Oranges
Select the oranges that you will use within the next week to ten days. Look carefully through the fruit for damaged pieces. These should be used first because they will rot if you try to store them for any length of time. Place the unwrapped fruit in small baskets. Oranges stay juicier when kept at room temperature. The baskets are preferable to other containers because they permit the air to circulate freely around each piece of fruit. Set the baskets of fruit on your kitchen counter where they will not be exposed to direct sunlight.
Store Oranges for 2 to 3 Weeks
Choose the undamaged oranges that you want to store for 2 to 3 weeks. Make sure that none of the fruit shows signs of decay. Wrap each piece of fruit individually in pieces of wrapping paper. Although other types of paper may work for you, wrapping paper tends to be moisture resistant. It is very important that stored fruit not come into contact with moisture. Wrapping citrus individually will also isolate any that decays so that the rest of the batch isn't subjected to rot.
Place the wrapped oranges in cardboard boxes. Store the boxes of fruit in a refrigerator, or in a cool, dark, dry place like your garage or a shed where the temperature is around 60F.
Store Oranges for 6 to 8 Weeks

Grow Orange Trees
Purchase an orange variety adapted to your area. For example, Washington navels grow well in California, while Valencia oranges are adapted to Arizona, Texas and Florida, as well as California.
Plant the tree in a warm, sunny area where the soil drains well.
Mulch to conserve water.
Water the tree deeply once every 7 to 10 days in midsummer. Water less often if it rains or if the weather is cool.
Fertilize every four to six weeks from February to August.
Protect trees from frost if temperatures are forecast to drop below 28 degrees F.
Harvest oranges when they taste sweet. Timing will vary by variety and growing area.

First locate a soft ground so you can dig easily drive a stake in the ground where you would like to start mke the stakes approximately the hight of the posts Drive a second stake in the ground where you would like to end try to keep these stakes in line as best you can Yie a string to one stake and then to the other, this will give you a straight fence line
Using your post hole digger dig a hole 2 feet deep. set the fist post in place and level it. back fill with all the dirt you removed from the hole
Use the handle of your shovel to force the dirt against the post. measure 6feet over from pole and start the process over again making sure each post is level and sits against the string you tied to the stakes
while putting each post in the ground find a place you can mark on each post and use this mark as a reference point so all posts are at equal height you can do this by putting a line level on the string as close to the top of the posts as possible

Troubleshoot Car Battery Posts
Locate the battery. Most of the time you will find it at the front of the engine compartment to the left or right hand side. Thoroughly clean the battery top and sides with a clean rag and leave it free of dirt and moisture. This helps to keep the battery from building up corrosion and makes it easier to inspect the case for possible damage. If necessary, mix 1 tbsp. of baking soda with 8 oz. of water in a small foam cup. Use a small wire brush and the solution to clean the battery case. Use water to rinse off the solution.
Inspect the battery posts or side terminals. If you see corrosion (a soft white and light green substance) buildup around the posts and terminals, clean them with the baking soda solution and brush. Detach the battery cables from the battery posts or side terminals starting with the negative terminal. Use a pair of wrenches if the terminals are bolted to the post or attached to a side terminal. Use pliers with spring-type terminals. Be very careful not to damage the posts or side terminals.
Clean the battery posts or side terminals and the inside of the terminal clamps using a battery post/cable cleaner brush or an appropriate wire brush. Make sure to clean any trace of corrosion. If necessary, dip the cable clamps in the baking soda solution. Connect the battery cables to the posts or side terminals but do not over tighten the clamp or you may damage the terminal and the post.
Check for voltage drop to make sure you have a good connection. Start the engine. With a voltmeter set to milivolts, touch the negative battery post with the meter’s red lead and the battery cable-just before it reaches the clamp-with the meter's black lead. If the voltmeter reads a voltage greater than 0.1 volt, either the terminal needs more cleaning or there is a connection problem between the clamp and the battery cable. Check the positive post reversing the voltmeter leads connections.

About Continuation Schools
Continuation schools are for any student who has needs or obligations that make attending and graduating from high school difficult. Continuation schools offer personalized learning plans, counseling and flexible scheduling, allowing students to earn their credits for graduation at a pace that best fits their personal needs.
Work-study plans are also offered to students who attend a continuation school. When you participate in the work-study program offered by the continuation school, you have a choice of attending a half day of school or evening classes. The main benefit of attending a continuation school is that you can graduate high school even if you are behind in your studies or have other obligations that restrict your school attendance. The teachers will work with you to help you earn enough credits to graduate on time.
The low teacher-to-student ratio allows you to work with your teacher closely. You can learn practical vocational skills while attending continuation schools, allowing you to enter a career field as soon as you graduate. You can also use your work experience as additional credits toward your high school diploma.Continuation schools for pregnant minors include education on prenatal care, parenting skills and nutrition. The additional counseling and support that these teens receive allows them to earn credits for graduation while also providing a practical education that is useful during and after pregnancy.
There are far fewer students enrolled in continuation schools each year than in traditional high schools. Currently, less than 10 percent of students enter into a continuation school. This is the equivalent of about 150 students per school, allowing you to have personal interactions with the teachers and staff on a regular basis. Since continuation schools offer services only for students in grades 10 through 12, the time frame for graduation is 2 years or less. If you have already begun tenth grade, and have some credits, then you will spend significantly less time in school. Continuation schools will help you earn credits faster than traditional schools if you are an advanced student or if you need to participate in a work-study program.
The most common misconception about continuation schools is that they are only for troubled teens. While this is partly true, most of the teens who attend continuation schools do so to graduate while receiving vocational training or because they need flexible scheduling.
Continuation schools are also used as a resource by teens who are gifted. These gifted teens can move through their studies at a much quicker pace, which helps them reduce boredom associated with traditional classes that are too slow for them.

Negotiate Contracts
Understand that before negotiating a contract, you must first be able to legally enter into a contract. Generally, this means you must be 18 years or older and capable of making informed decisions. Familiarize yourself with the basics of contract law. Realize that a contract basically consists of an offer, acceptance, consideration (usually money) and an intention to create a legal relationship.
Research all laws applicable to your contract. This may include landlord/tenant regulations, lemon laws or zoning restrictions. Knowledge of the applicable laws is crucial to forming a legally enforceable contract. Prepare your case. Before coming to the negotiation table, ask yourself what you want, what you are willing to concede and what you refuse to give up. By prioritizing your needs you set the stage for more effective contract negotiation.
Apply general negotiation skills. Start with the easy things first to build momentum and to establish a reputation for reasonableness. Ask for more than you are willing to accept and try to find middle ground acceptable to both parties. Understand that contract negotiation is a matter of give and take. Listen to the other side. Stay calm and focused.

Government agencies tend to favor contractors that are owned and operated by individuals that are identified as disadvantaged by the small business Administration.

Cut Business Expenses
Buy from a wholesaler or liquidator. When you need any kind of office equipment, check out these companies to see if they have any products you can use. Ask for a discount when making large purchases.
Shop around for telephone services. Many companies, including AT&T and Sprint, offer new customers discounted phone plans. Lease office equipment instead of purchasing. Be aware that this may cost you more money in the long run, but you will be able to save some money in the short term.
Check with insurance companies about competitive rates. You can cut business expenses by switching insurance companies. Cut back on all unnecessary items. For example, if your company gives the employees cell phones, consider only keeping a couple to be shared among the group. Downsize the staff. If you need to lay off workers because of poor earnings, you should not be afraid to do it.

Have a Business Conversation
Get to know your business conversation partner. Learn more about your colleague by asking him how he is, where he comes from or some other benign but revealing questions. Locate some common ground. Find out what similarities the two of you have, and then slowly move toward a more business oriented conversation, where you can talk about what your companies or departments have in common as well.
Move toward topics such as the latest trends in your industry, your latest projects or whatever the predetermined topic of conversation is if you two are meeting for a specific reason. Listen attentively to what your partner says, and respond with some quick comments throughout the business conversation. Other people love to talk; it's okay to give way to them in situations like this.
Compliment your conversation partner throughout the exchange. Who doesn't love to receive praise from time to time? Make your own points in the business conversation in a firm but concise way. Everyone is short on time, and you don't want to cause any time management issues. Close your business conversation with a firm handshake and a smile. Leave your partner with a positive and professional impression.

Incorporate a Business
Determine if you want out-of-state, in-state or foreign incorporation. Most small and medium-sized businesses incorporate in the state where the majority of their business is conducted. Enter into a prein corporation agreement with the co-founders of the business, establishing who will serve on the first board of directors, who will buy stock, how many shares and at what price.
File an application for registration of the name under which you wish to incorporate. Contact the Secretary of State's office to obtain the forms. After you file, the office will let you know if the name has been taken. Prepare articles of incorporation for your business, following instructions from the Secretary of State's office. The office will send you a certificate of incorporation, which will include the name of the company, the purpose for which it is being formed, the location of the company and other basic information.
Sign the certificate. The number of legally qualified individuals required to sign varies from state to state. Hold a stockholders' meeting after you receive your corporate charter from the state.
Adopt corporate bylaws and elect the board of directors at the meeting. Send an agenda to shareholders before the meeting to let them know what issues (and board candidates) they will be voting on. Once the board is formally elected, any documents created in connection with the prein corporation agreement need to be adopted.

Make the Most of Business Referrals
Join a business referral group or your local chamber of commerce. Meet other business members at meetings and advertise together in common venues. Create a business newsletter that will reach many customers. Make referrals a two-way street. When you receive referrals from other people, you need to give back in return so that the referrals keep coming.
Follow up on referrals right away. When people want something, they usually want it right away and if they can't get it from you, they will find someone else. Therefore it is smart to contact potential customers while your name is still fresh in their minds. Pitch your sale to anyone who will listen. Tell people about your products and services in detail so people understand the nature of your business and can recognize when someone they know may need your expertise.
Make referrals a priority. Incorporate the referral process into your marketing plan instead of waiting until your profits are down. When you get calls from referrals, you are closer to a sale than if you call someone cold. Know your purpose. You want to pass on more than just your name. Make sure your referrals know your business goal. Be clear about what you want whether it's more customers or information.
Be respectful of other people's time. Let your contacts know you appreciate their time by sending a thank you to anyone who helps you. Business people respect courtesy and your name will synonymous with positive business etiquette.

Research Barium
Read up on Greek roots and history. Find out why barium is named for the Greek word "barys," meaning "heavy." Look for facts about how some of the compounds of this element are remarkable for their high specific gravity. Find out why the discovery of barium is credited to Sir Humphry Davy of England, who extracted it in 1808, although it was first identified by Carl Scheele in 1774.
Read about geology to understand why barium is only found combined with other elements, primarily barite and witherite. Study world economics to see that barium is commercially obtained by electrolysis of barium chloride. Study mining and chemical manufacturing techniques to learn how barium is mined in China, India and the United States. Search chemistry and physics Web sites and books to learn about the best-known aspect of barium--its use with X-rays. Look for facts about barium's appearance, reactivity and other chemical and physical properties.
Get information on chemical properties to understand why barium is primarily used in vacuum tubes, spark plugs, pyrotechnics (where it produces a green color) and fluorescent lamps. Study industrial applications, including how barium is also used in drilling fluids, glass, brick and rubber making, water softeners, desiccants and rodent poisons. Research additional uses to learn how barium salts, especially barium sulfate, are used to increase the contrast of medical X-rays of the digestive system.

Research Science Fiction Topics
Start by familiarizing yourself with the fundamentals. If you don't have a solid grasp of the physics of our universe, you won't be able to manipulate them to create fictional models. "World Building: A Writer's Guide to Constructing Star Systems and Life-Supporting Planets" by Stephen Gillet and Ben Bova provides a good entry point (see Resources below).
Read reputable scientific publications such as "Scientific American," "Popular Science," "Cosmos Magazine" and "Science Magazine." These are often the best sources of new theories and ideas that can turn into topics for you to research. Investigate the nuts and bolts of potential time travel systems. In order to make time travel believable, you'll need to base it on plausible scientific theories. "Time Travel: A Writer's Guide to the Real Science of Plausible Time Travel" by Paul J. Nahin is designed to help sci-fi writers develop credible methods of moving characters into the future or past (see Resources below).
Delve into the topic of extraterrestrials. In order to create a compelling alien species, you'll need to know what types of planets might support what kinds of life. Start your research with an introductory book like "Aliens and Alien Societies: A Writer's Guide to Creating Extraterrestrial Life Forms" by Stanley Schmidt (see Resources below). Research material in new, cutting-edge fields such as quantum biology, super string theories, advanced robotics and nanotechnology. For a good overview of string theory and quantum mechanics written for the layperson, try Brian Greene's bestselling book "The Fabric of the Cosmos: Space, Time, and the Texture of Reality" (see Resources below).
Attend science fiction conventions whenever possible. This gives you a chance to meet other people working in the field, as well as fans. Both are excellent sources of ideas for research topics. The World Science Fiction Association has a comprehensive list of upcoming

Great Hotel Deals
Plan your vacation well in advance and during the off-season, or midweek when hotel rates are far cheaper--up to 50 percent-- due to less demand. Call the hotel and ask for the exact day its off-season rates start. Timing is everything. Call the hotel and ask about package deals, promotions and special discounts for seniors, military, students, corporations or American Automobile Association (aaa.com) members. When you're quoted a rate, ask if less expensive rooms are available.
Book your room via the Web: Many hotels offer discounts for commission-free online transactions. Major online agencies, such as HotelDiscounts.com, Hotels.com, Orbitz.com, Expedia.com and Travelocity.com, have special arrangements with thousands of hotels, offering room rates you can't get on your own. Ask if kids stay free if you're traveling with your family. Find out if the rooms have kitchens or kitchenettes--you'll save a bundle by preparing your own meals.
If you're very flexible about the type and location of a hotel, let name-your-own-price online travel agencies such as Priceline.com and Hotwire.com do the haggling for you. You save up to 40 percent on published room rates, but there's a catch: The hotel, room, neighborhood and rate are not disclosed to you until after your room is already charged to your credit card (however, they usually come pretty close to meeting your requests).

Job Description of a Hotel Manager
While there are no special qualifications required to obtain a position as a hotel manager, many do posses a degree in hospitality services or business administrations . This is because much of the work of a hotel manager has to do with the organization and planning of hotel services, from maintaining financial records to promoting the place. In smaller hotels, hotel managers may also be in charge of managing the budget and achieving particular profit goals. When it comes to licenses and safety or health code regulations, it is usually up to the hotel manager to ensure that things are up to date.
Function
Hotel managers are also in charge of personnel. While large hotels may have a human resources department or another person in charge of workers, the hotel manager is still the person who recruits and approves new staff, as well as monitoring training and planning work schedules.
Considerations
While hotel managers rarely work directly with the public, they do address customer complaints if these cannot be handled properly by employees. In some cases, they also handle customer greeting, especially in the case of important figures. If there are special events, conferences or business meetings being held at the hotel, it's usually the work of the manager to ensure that things run smoothly and that supplies and security are in place.
Potential
If there is work being done at the hotel, such as maintenance or renovations, these orders usually have to be approved by the hotel manager, who then supervises the work. She ensures that both the services and the property are not damaged in the process. The same is true of addressing technical problems, both related to computers or to inner workings of the hotel.
Types
Hotel managers may have other obligations depending on the type of hotel. Those who work at resort hotels will have to supervise the proper functioning of golf courses, spas and swimming pools. Those who are employed at an extended-stay hotel have to make sure the fully equipped kitchens contained within the apartments work properly and the equipment in the fitness center is up-to-date and in optimal condition.

Become a Navy Pilot
Make sure you want to be a naval officer, not just a pilot. Although many Navy pilots eventually have jobs with the airlines, they first serve for many years as a naval officer. Not everyone who wants to be a pilot gets to be a pilot. Apply to the officer program you would like to attend. Navy officer programs are competitive and you must be an officer in order to fly. The United States Naval Academy, Navy ROTC and Officer Candidate School (OCS) are the choices.
Go to college. You must be a college graduate to fly in the Navy. Graduate from the Naval Academy, NROTC or OCS. Graduates from these programs are ensigns in the Navy. You will be able to request a career specialty at this point. Request Navy pilot as your career specialty. Some years nearly everyone who is physically qualified and would like to fly gets to fly, but in other years this is not the case. Be prepared with a back-up plan if you do not get to become a pilot.
Attend flight school in Pensacola. The school involves flight training, classroom work and physical activity. Following initial flight training, you will be able to request if you want to fly helicopters, jets or propeller aircraft. Choose the type of aircraft you would like to fly and finish flight training. Become a Navy pilot.

Tip a Beautician
Evaluate how you were treated. Think about whether you were greeted kindly, listened to and given the attention you needed to get the results you wanted. A beautician may be swamped, and you should not hold that against her. Time given to you may be twice as much the next time when she is not quite so busy. Evaluating her effort is really the most important part.
Look at the time spent. A beautician who spends a lot of extra time on making you happy deserves an extra tip. She is not getting paid extra to re-do that cut three times in a row. Reward her by tipping her thrice as much if such a situation were to occur. In extraordinary circumstances, it is appropriate to tip that much more.
Tip 20 percent for service that is satisfactory. Never go less than 10 percent even it is a less-than-satisfactory job. A beautician does her best with the information she has, skills learned and tools available. Sometimes there is miscommunication or misunderstanding in what you truly want. Tip extra if the beautician provides extra services that she does not charge for. A hand massage during a manicure deserves some extra tipping.

Become a Beautician
Find a trade school that specializes in offering cosmetology classes that cater specifically to beauticians. Some courses that are offered can span anywhere from nine months to two years. You can go to the National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts & Sciences website to perform a search of accredited schools to jump start your career.
Request federal and state financial aid to help pay for school. A high school diploma or GED is necessary to request financial aid. Apply for a grant or scholarship. Everyone doesn't qualify for financial aid. If they are qualified then their award amount may not cover the full cost of tuition. Get a listing of schools that accept ACE grants at the Careers in Beauty website. The ACE grant was created to help those interested in the cosmetology field.
Check out The Education Resources Institute, Inc. They are a non-profit organization where you can request student loans. Take a basic accounting course or business management class to help aid you in your business venture. Almost half of beauticians are self-employed; it will help in the long run to learn how to work with numbers. Look at the licensing requirements listed for your state's board of cosmetology to ensure that you are covering all bases to become a beautician.

Make Rubber Bracelets
Cover your work area with layers of old newspaper. You may need to layer this a couple of times to prevent the dye from soaking through to your work surface. Prepare the dye in a separate container for each color you wish to use. Set these to the side where they will not be easily knocked over.
Choose a rubber band that fits your wrist well. Make sure that the rubber band you choose has enough room to write on if you wish to add text later. Place the rubber band in the color of dye you want. Keep the rubber band sitting in the dye until the color is the desired density and then remove it to dry.
Lay the rubber band in front of you as flat as possible. Tape down the ends to prevent movement. Place the stencil over the rubber band and, using a permanent marker, begin to write the desired text. Remove the tape. Allow the bracelet to sit for a few minutes to ensure that the marker is dry and does not smudge.

Make a Paper Towel
Begin collecting waste paper from trash bins or office trash cans, you can ask local businesses for their shredded paper, which is great to begin with. You may also want to add vegetable fibers such as celery, wheat, straw or bamboo, then cut fibers into fine strands and tear paper into tiny pieces. Place all the paper and fibers into a large pot and cover with boiling water, then add a caustic solution to remove any impurities.
Place the pot on the stove and simmer for two to five hours, then drain the liquid and repeat the same process again. The paper materials should become a fatty pulp of mass and any dirt or impurities should separate itself from the fatty pulp. Remove any of these impurities with a strainer and carefully mix the pulp with clean water and place into a blender to shred the crude mixture.
Paper towels are often bleached during this process to make the towel whiter by adding a small amount of bleach to the paper pulp or the use of colored fabric dyes are used to produce color in the towel. Some brands contain a low level of resin or binder (glue that keeps the fibers from falling apart when they become wet.) This is what paper towel manufacturers call "wet strength," or "Bounty tough," as consumers are familiar with.
Expensive paper towel brands contain an additive that will make the paper towel feel "soft" rather than the "Bounty tough." While blending, the pulp mass should become a semi-liquid fibrous material, then the creamy pulp is poured into a tub and more water is added for consistency. Then the pulp is ready to be placed into casting or moulding with the deckle frame attached.
The deckle frame is fit over the mould to prevent excess pulp from spilling out and the mould and deckle frame is given a shake, two ways to intertwine and crisscross the fibers. Patterns of shapes such as squares, diamonds or other images are often imprinted into the paper towel to help hold the moisture in. Most paper towel rolls are manufactured with two layers of thin paper and the more layers the towels have, the stronger the paper towel.
After a thin piece of pulp and felt has been formed on the mould, the sheet of towel is allowed to drain for a short time, then the process is repeated, removing of the felt, stacking up piles of these sheets, until the desired strength of paper towel is formed. The mould is lifted and the piles are now ready to be pressed and squeezed of any excess water.
The paper is then placed in the open air to dry slowy. Once the thin sheets of paper are dried, they are cut into different sizes. Sizing may be done with one tablespoon of corn starch or unflavored gelatin, or any other starchy substances. The sheets of paper are placed in trays of gelatin sizing, then the process of pressing and drying procedure is repeated over and over again until the paper is dried completely.
Continue the series of steps for the paper forming process of pressing to remove water between the rolls and felts, then drying to achieve a certain moisture level, and the calendering process where the paper is compacted and smoothed as it is rolled or cut into sheets. Another method for paper towel making is to use toilet paper with liquid starch, a bowl, screen, cookie sheet, towel, and a heavy book. While the processing method is the same, the materials used are less.

Enjoy free email access on Mobile Phones
But, the freedom came to us at the cost of being tied to the PC or laptop for accessing the emails. Each one of us today has the 'need' to access our email account in order to remain connected with our friends, customers, suppliers and other resources at least once a day to several times a day.
For many of us, who do not have a P.C and are usually on the move, it really becomes difficult to rush to some desk top system every now and then just to access our emails. Sometimes we even spend our money and time at cyber cafes just to read some important information emailed to us.
I often envied my boss who carried a smart laptop and a smart phone with him and enjoyed the power of being connected with the world. Many of my senior colleagues also had the advantage of mobile access to their emails through their smart phones. But for me it was a wish which could not be fulfilled until another couple of years.
It would cost me a fortune to avail these luxury devices.

Set Up Multiple Microphones
Set up your soundboard. Make sure that you have a soundboard that is capable of enough separate channels for each microphone that you want to set up. You can still run the splitter into a single channel but you will be unable to control the sound and volume of each individual microphone. You will be limited to having the same sound and volume for all the microphones.
Connect your system. Run your snake cable from the back of the soundboard to your microphone splitter. Be sure to securely tape your snake cable down to the floor to be sure that no one trips over your cable which could disconnect it from the board and cause your microphones not to work.
Connect your microphones to the splitter box. Splitters can have anywhere from 2 to 24+ inputs for microphones and quite often will also have connections for musical instruments as well.
Connect all your microphones directly to your sound board. If there is a short enough distance between your sound board and where you will be using your microphones, consider plugging the microphones directly into the back of your sound board. You will only be able to connect as many microphones as you have sound board channels.
Consider going wireless. The easiest way to connect multiple microphones is to go wireless. The cost of wireless systems has gone down dramatically in the last few years and wireless microphones have never been such an affordable option for your sound system. Wireless microphones work by connecting a wireless box to your soundboard channel which transmits signals to and from a wireless headset or microphone. This eliminates most of the issues that come with running snake cables or multiple microphone cords.

Sell Sound-Masking Systems
Start selling sound-masking systems by locating a reliable supplier. Sound-masking equipment is available from a variety of sources, but reliable, high-quality equipment is key to business success. Call various medical and dental groups. Health care is a growth industry and new clinics are being built daily in cities with medium to large populations. Small clinics are often incorporated into strip malls and a sound-masking system prevents private information from being overheard through the thin walls.
Contact construction firms. All modern office space makes use of sound masking. Once a construction company wins the bid on a large project, they immediately start searching for sub-contractors. Visit any local recording studios. Recording studios are oases of masked sound. Sensitive recording equipment picks up even the faintest sounds from outside. Each recording room has to have sound-masking equipment installed.
Partner with an interior design firm. The objectives of interior design are to create a peaceful living space and sound masking adds to the subtle ambiance of a space by blocking unwanted audio intrusions.

Make Polymer Clay Beads
Buy polymer clay from your local craft store or order it online. Keep in mind the project you are planning and who is going to be making it when choosing your polymer clay colors. A square of polymer clay makes quite a few small beads. You may need more for larger beads or larger projects. You might want to buy smaller packages of the polymer clay to begin with. You can always get more if you need it.
Open the package of polymer clay and work it in the palm of your hand until it is softer. Some forms of polymer clay are very stiff when you first open them. They need to be made pliable by working them in your hands. The kneading and the warmth of your hands will soften the polymer clay.
Choose the size of bead you would like to make. Take a small chunk of the softened polymer clay in your hand. Roll it with the palms of both hands until you form a smooth ball. If you want more than one color in the bead, add bits of another color in small globs or strips. Then roll them into the same bead until it is smooth. They do not have to be perfectly round. Make as many beads or bead combinations as you like. These are great for bracelets or necklaces.
Take a toothpick or small skewer and carefully poke a hole all the way through each bead. This is where you will put thread or wire through when making a bracelet, necklace or earrings after the beads are baked and cooled. Don’t forget this step. Once the clay is baked it hardens and unless you drill it, you won’t be able to poke a hole through the bead.
Set the beads spaced apart on a cookie sheet or pie tin. Cook at the temperature and for the time specified on the polymer clay package wrap. Let them sit to cool. Then you have beads ready for whatever beading project you are making with the handmade polymer clay beads.

Impress the Teacher
Follow along and work on your project quietly without talking to your neighbors or interrupting the class with excessive questions. If you begin to fall behind, follow the instructions in your class handout or watch what your tablemates are doing to try to catch up.
Admit that you didn't understand a step or two once the class is over and the teacher has time for some one-on-one instruction. You'll impress her with your honesty and your questions may even help her re-write her instructions and make her lecture more clear for the next class. Help other students keep up with the large class if they're struggling with the concepts. Let the teacher know what you did to help them "get" the technique if he seems responsive to advice. As a student, you may have been able to come up with an angle to make an idea more accessible to a beginner.
Give the teacher ideas for future classes if you're an advanced crafter who's just taking the class for fun. After class, demonstrate other ways she can use the same tools to achieve new effects, for example. Show your teacher projects that you've created using the techniques and materials you learned about in one of his former classes. You can even reveal new ideas you developed using his concepts as a springboard.
